- Do you think Eric Weiner achieved his goal in finding the happiest places around the world?
- A few of the places mentioned in the book such as Iceland and Thailand seemed like surprising places to find happiness. Were you surprised by some of the locations that he picked?

I was very surprised by both
I was very surprised by both Iceland and Thailand garnering top spots in the "happiness" hierarchy. And was fascinated to hear how fluidly people can move from one job--or really profession--to another in Iceland because they would like to try it and think they would be good at it! I can see how that would make one happy. . .
Wiener didn't mention literacy/reading as a factor in happiness. But I do recall that Iceland has long had one of the world's highest literacy rates. Could that be a reason for happiness?
